Good afternoon witches, devils, vampires and other devil spirits! Keep quiet and keep your ears open so that everybody can hear a bat flying, a leaf falling down from a tree or a mouse rustling in the dry grass.  Welcome to our Halloween party!

POEM

‘It’s Halloween‘

It’s Halloween! It’s Halloween!
The moon is full & bright.
And we will see what can’t be seen
on any other night.

THE WITCHES’ DANCING (танец ведьм)

Ведущий:  Halloween is a festival that takes place on October 31.  This day was originally called All Hallow’s Eve because it fell on the eve of All Saints’ Day.  According to old beliefs Halloween is the time, when the veil between the living & the dead is lifted, & witches, ghosts & other supernatural beings appear.

Many Halloween customs are based on beliefs of the ancient Celts, who lived 2,000 years ago in what is now Great Britain, Ireland & Northern France. It was believed that evil spirits played tricks on October 31.
Now children dress up as ghosts & witches, go from house to house and say:
Trick or treat, smell our feet.
We want something good to eat.

Ведущий: A favorite custom is to make a jack-o’-lantern.  According to an Irish legend, jack-o’-lanterns were named for a man called Jack who was famous for his drunkenness & being stingy.  He played a joke on the Devil, that’s why he could enter neither heaven nor hell, & only a live coal in a turnip lit his way out of the darkness.

Halloween, Halloween
Creepy, crawly Halloween
Trick or treat all in fun,
October 31st has come

Halloween, Halloween
Spooky, kooky Halloween
Kids in costumes, what a sight
On Halloween tonight

Halloween, Halloween
Painted faces, what a scene
Door to door
They trick or treat
For something sweet to eat

Halloween, Halloween
Let's have fun on Halloween
Witches fly
And children scream
Tonight on Halloween

Вадим: By the way? What date is it today?

S 2: Today is the 14 th of February, St Valentine’s day.

S 3: It’s lovely to meet you here, at Valentine’s party!

B1:  It’s here again, the day when boys and girls, sweethearts and lovers, husbands and wives, friends and neighbours, and even the office staff will exchange greetings of affection, undying love or satirical comment.

B2:  St.Valentine’s Day, February 14, has been a customary day for choosing sweethearts and exchanging love-tokens from time immemorial. The method of choosing sweethearts on St. Valentine’s Day varied in different times and places. It could be a serious matter leading to marriage, or it could be a kind of game. Countless generations of young people have acknowledged St. Valentine as the friend and patron of lovers.

B1: What kind of holiday is St.Valentine’s Day?

B2:  St.Valentine’s Day is a religious holiday, which is celebrated in Great Britain, in many European countries and in the USA. St.Valentine’s Day has roots in several legends.

B1:One of the early symbols of love is Cupid, the Roman God of love, who is represented as a young boy with a bow and arrow.

B1: Dear friends! St. Valentine’s Day is a wonderful holiday!

B2: St. Valentine’s Day has become customary in Russia. Everybody looks forward to it with great anticipation. It’s the day of sending valentines, the day of confessing in love. It’s nice to meet you at our Valentine’s party.

B1:  You know, the day is most closely associated with the mutual exchange of love notes in the form of "valentines." Valentine symbols include the heart-shaped outline, doves, and the figure of the winged Cupid. Since the 19th century, handwritten notes have largely given way to mass-produced greeting cards. The sending of Valentines was a fashion in the nineteenth century in Great Britain. And here there are well-known modern valentines.

Poems (на цветных открытках)

  1. Your heart is like a treasure,

A source of wealth to keep,

Impossible to measure…

Unfathomably deep.

2.  Your love is like the ocean

That reaches deep inside,

My heart sweet with emotion

And I can’t the tide.

I’ll love you dear, I’ll love you

Till China and Africa meet

And rivers jump over the mountain

And the salmon sings in the street.

3.  I’ll love you till the ocean

Is folded and hung up to dry

And the seven stars go squawking

Like geese about the sky.

4.  You my sunshine,

My only sunshine.

You make me happy, when skies are grey.

You’ll never know, dear

How much I love you;

Please don’t make my sunshine away.

My love for you is

As high as a mountain

And as deep as the sea!

Be my valentine!

5.  Roses are red

Violets are blue

Sugar is sweet

And so are you.

6.  Here’s a Valentine

And this is what it’s for

To say that every day

You are loved

More, more, more! (дети дарят открытки)

LOVE IS… a tender of feeling,

LOVE IS… a way of being,

LOVE IS… just showing someone you care.

LOVE IS… helping with the dishes,

LOVE IS… feeding your pet fishes,

LOVE IS… just giving from your heart.

 LOVE IS…

 For you and me

Oh! LOVE is the greatest thing in the world.

B2: we wish you LOVE, HAPPINESS and BEAUTY! Happy Valentine's Day to all of you!

S2: Our plane leaves for Canada.

Mother's Day is a time of celebration for Mom. It is a time of breakfast in bed, family gatherings, and saying "I Love You."During the 17th century, those living on the British isles initiated a religious celebration of motherhood, called Mothering Sunday, which was held on the forth Sunday during the Lenten season.

When is Mother's Day? Mother’s Day is celebrated by Canadians on the second Sunday in May.

People pay tribute to their mothers on the day and thank them for their constant support and love. In Canada, cards and flowers are the most commonly used methods of expressing love for moms.

Sale of cards breaks all records on mothers day. Many people also take their mothers out for a dinner on Mothers Day and bake special cakes for them. Mothers are also pampered with gifts and day off from kitchen by their loving children.

Caring children make it a point to greet Mothers Day to their own moms, grand mothers and to women who are like their mothers. Those staying away from their mothers visit them and make them feel special. While those who cannot pay a visit call on phone. No wonder, phone traffic is highest on the occasion of Mothers Day.

M - O - T - H - E - R

"M" is for the million things she gave me,

"O" means only that she's growing old,

"T" is for the tears she shed to save me,

"H" is for her heart of purest gold;

"E" is for her eyes, with love-light shining,
"R" means right, and right she'll always be,

"MOTHER," A word that means the world to me.

In Mother’s Day people in the family try to help her. On that day they visit their mothers, cook holiday supper and give them presents and “A Mother’s Day Card”

The day before his birthday
the baby said to God:

– I don’t know wherefore I’m going to this world…
How will I live there?
I am so small and helpless…

God answered: “I’ll give you an angel…
who will be waiting for you
and take care of you.

– But what shall I do on Earth?
Here I am smiling and laughing,
It’s all I need for my happiness.

Your angel will smile for you.
You will feel his love.
and you will be happy .

– But how will I understand him?
I don’t know the language
he’s speaking

– Your angel will teach you
his language
– He will jealously watch over you
and sain you

– When should I come back to you, God?

– Your angel will tell you everything.

– What’s the name of my angel?

– His name is not an important thing.
He will have a lot of different names
But you will call  him MOTHER

Here’s a kiss and a hug for you

Thank you mommy for all you do!

Happy Mother’s day, Happy Mother’s day, I love you!

B1: - Christmas and New Year are the most favorite holidays of English children. People in Britain celebrate Christmas on the 25 of December- a week before the New Year. And today we are going to show you how children in England celebrate these holidays.

The beginning of a new year is a time for celebrating and for making a new start. On New Year`s Eve many people go to parties with their families, neighbours and friends. In London people gather to celebrate in Trafalgar Square. From there they can hear Big Ben, the large clock at the Houses of Parliament.

В2: - When Big Ban strikes, people all hug and kiss each other and shout "Happy New Year". But young people go out and meet their friends at parties, discos and different clubs. But little children are waiting for Santa Claus. They believe that while they are sleeping he comes to visit them. He is a kind old man in red clothes with a big sack of toys. He put sweets and small toys in the children`s stockings.

В1: - Some people ignore it completely and go to bed at usual time. Others, however, do celebrate it in one way or another. The most common type of celebration is a New Year party.

There is a funny tradition connected with the New Year: the 1st Foot. This is the 1st visitor to enter a house on NY`s morning. He is a person of great importance. The 1st Foot must be a man because it is believed that if a woman 1st sets foot in the house, bad luck will follow throughout the year. Traditionally, the 1st visitor of the year must carry food, drink and coal into the house. Coal helps to make a fire in midwinter and there shall never be lack of food and drink during the coming year.

Santa Claus: - Merry Christmas and happy New Year! Were you good and obedient children this year?

Oh, my Lord! What’s up? Where are we?

S1: Don’t panic! Don’t leave our board. We are in Australia.

S1: Ladies and gentlemen, fasten your seatbelts, please! The next point of our trip is Australia

Australia is a wonderful country with people from different parts of the world. So, Easter is celebrated in a variety of ways.

The main day of celebration of families of Anglo-Irish backgrounds is Easter Sunday. Some people go to church services and have hot cross buns for breakfast. These are a sweet fruit bun, which may have a cross on top. Children exchange Easter eggs, which are usually made of chocolate. Some are now made from sugar and have little toys inside.

Many families arrange for an Easter hunt in their homes or gardens to see who can find the most eggs on Easter Sunday morning. They then share a meal with their relatives. Traditionally this has consisted of roast lamb, beef or chicken with roasted vegetables like potatoes, carrots, pumpkin

Kids and adult both love Easter season because of colorful eggs, fun games, and great bunny songs. Here are some of the fun Easter bunny songs for kids that they will surely love to sing, from the lesser known tunes The Easter Bunny is Coming to well known Here Comes Peter Cottontail

Here Comes Peter Cottontail is one of the most popular Easter bunny songs for children. It is a classic Easter song that has inspired a lot of children because of the song catchy tune and funny lyrics.

 “Here Comes Peter Cottontail

Here comes Peter Cottontail,

Hoppin’ down the bunny trail,

Hippity, hoppity, Easter’s on its way.

Bringin’ every girl and boy

Baskets full of Easter joy,

Things to make your Easter bright and gay.

He’s got jelly beans for Tommy,

Colored eggs for sister Sue,

There’s an orchid for your Mommy

And an Easter bonnet, too.
Oh! here comes Peter Cottontail,

Hoppin’ down the bunny trail,

Hippity hoppity, Happy Easter day.

Here comes Peter Cottontail,

Hoppin’ down the bunny trail,

Look at him stop, and listen to him say:

“Try to do the things you should.”

 Maybe if you’re extra good,

He’ll roll lots of Easter eggs your way.

You’ll wake up on Easter morning

And you’ll know that he was there

When you find those choc’late bunnies

That he’s hiding ev’rywhere.

You’ll wake up on Easter morning

And you’ll know that he was there

When you find those choc’late bunnies

That he’s hiding ev’rywhere.

Oh! here comes Peter Cottontail,

Hoppin’ down the bunny trail,

Hippity hoppity, Happy Easter day.
